Friday
Psalm 88:1-18 (ESV) 1 O LORD, God of my salvation; I cry out day and night before you. 2 Let my prayer come
before you; incline your ear to my cry! 3 For my soul is
full of troubles, and my life draws near to Sheol.
4 I am counted
among those who go down to the pit; I am a man who has no
strength, 5
like one set loose among the dead, like
the slain that lie in the grave, like those whom you
remember no more, for they are cut off from your
hand. 6
You have put me in the depths of the pit, in the regions dark and deep. 7 Your wrath lies
heavy upon me, and you overwhelm me with all your waves.
Does you life ever feel like this? You try hard and things get worse. You just can't get ahead. The car breaks down, the air conditioner fails, the foundation on the house sags and you get laid off from work. What do you do?
You tell the Lord. Yes, He already knows about your situation but telling Him is contact with Him. Telling Him opens you up to listening to Him. Listening to Him will give you the solution you need to act. Hearing from Him reveals that He still loves you. Knowing He loves you will get you through it because what has happened did so with His permission. Draw close to the Lord for this could be the very reason it happened.
And don't give up hope.
