Is There Room for Hope?

I am concerned that many things in our world are out of control. These concerns are global and local. They are pandemic and reflect a people who have done what is right in their own eyes. I am convinced that they cannot be fixed by mankind. Mankind has fallen short of God's glory and will continue to fall short of His glory if we do not repent. We will fall under the rule of despots who will promise us prosperity and protection while usurping our liberties. The current trend will lead us to a faithless society ruled by the iron hand of someone who came to power with a silver tongue.

Our national debt has gotten so large that most people have no means of understanding it. They do not know that in an hour's time the debt will increase by $100 million. That is not sustainable for a society.
The concern for the unborn has fallen from any concern on a national level. This year millions of babies will be aborted. Those politicians who were elected to protect the rights of the defenseless have done nothing to stop this murder of convenience.

The government increases its ability to take from one set of people to give to another. It taxes those who have to give to those who don't have. It has made this seem moral. Generous giving is the act of the righteous. Taking through laws or through forceful means is stealing. The government is legislating morality by taking from the haves to give to the have-nots.

The homosexual agenda is not one of equality but domination. They hide their intentions by using those who have treated them badly to justify the "re-education" of children to accept their lifestyle. If they chose not to dominate, they could simply call upon the laws which would protect anyone from violent people. The education should be against violence. However, the agenda is not seen by the average person and is approved because it seems right.
The world has lost the concept of what is noble. Doing what is right is not expedient any more. People are told to break the rules if they are to get ahead. They are told to step on others if they want to be taller. They are told to never give in to those around them. They can't even drive to work without getting into hateful encounters with other people. The anger continues to build.

Vice has become the norm for many people. Soft and hard pornography is not only available but pushed onto the screens of unsuspecting users of the internet. People are drinking too much, finding partners outside of marriage and neglecting their own family responsibilities. The family is falling apart with more and more homes being led by a single parent. The children no longer understand what marriage should be. They do not know what it is to receive grace because they have not seen it in their parents.

Role models have become the bad guys. Kids look up to people who have the morality of ally cats. These role models support the destruction of the family. They support greed, infidelity and substance abuse. And the parents don't even understand why this is wrong.

Is there any hope that this can be turned around? Is there any hope that we can get back on the right track? Is there any hope at all?

Yes!

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
